"A whole nother"

All the times that I had said "a whole nother" instead of "another whole," which didn't make as much sense, strangely. Fragment. A-misplaced-nother. An-arrogant-other.

I wondered if it really mattered where "another" breaks.

E.g., Not a-fucking-gain!
Not a whole nother lecture on presidential politics.

The practice of the former seems to be the same as "to not have cared less" vs. "to have not cared less"...etc....placement of the negative in the sentence migrates power, and causes the stress to fall differently.

"A whole nother" stresses the fact, then, that not only am I going to have to start over (on whatever X cause/project/relationship), but that's I'm going to have to start from scratch.
